RTA Signs Agreement To Develop Dubai Harbour Entry/Exit Points

RTA Signs Agreement To Develop Dubai Harbour Entry/Exit Points. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has embarked on a significant infrastructure project by entering into a strategic partnership with Shamal Holding, a leading investment firm known for managing diverse and high-value assets. This collaboration aims to develop crucial entry and exit points for Dubai Harbour, enhancing accessibility to one of the region’s most prestigious seafront districts.

A New Bridge for Enhanced Connectivity

The centerpiece of this initiative is the construction of a two-lane bridge in each direction, stretching 1,500 meters from Sheikh Zayed Road to Dubai Harbour. This bridge will provide a direct route for vehicles, significantly improving traffic flow in the area. According to Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, the bridge is designed to accommodate up to 6,000 vehicles per hour, which will greatly ease the movement of both visitors and residents to and from Dubai Harbour.

Strategic Route And Traffic Improvements

The bridge’s route is carefully planned, beginning at the fifth intersection on Sheikh Zayed Road near the American University in Dubai. It will pass through key intersections, including those at Al Naseem Street, Al Falak Street, and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street, before reaching Dubai Harbour. These intersections will also undergo surface improvements to further streamline traffic.

Once completed, the project is expected to reduce travel time from 12 minutes to just 3 minutes, a significant reduction that will enhance the overall efficiency of transportation in the area.

Partnership With Shamal Holding: A Vision For Dubai Harbour

Abdulla Binhabtoor, Chief Portfolio Management Officer at Shamal Holding, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing its importance in the ongoing development of Dubai Harbour. He highlighted that the bridge is a key component of Shamal Holding’s broader vision to create integrated communities that offer the highest quality of life for residents and visitors alike. This project aligns with Dubai’s urban and architectural development plans and reflects the commitment of both the RTA and Shamal Holding to building extraordinary residential and tourist communities.

Dubai Harbour: A Premier Lifestyle Destination

Dubai Harbour is uniquely positioned between Bluewaters Island and Palm Jumeirah, close to iconic landmarks such as Burj Al Arab and Expo Dubai. As a premier lifestyle destination, it offers a blend of luxury living, retail, and hospitality options, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Arabian Gulf. The area also hosts Skydive Dubai, featuring a runway that extends 550 meters into the Gulf, further enhancing its appeal.

Conclusion

The agreement between the RTA and Shamal Holding marks a significant milestone in the development of Dubai Harbour. The new bridge will not only improve traffic flow but also contribute to the area’s status as a top-tier destination for residents and tourists. This project is a testament to Dubai’s commitment to innovation, quality of life, and sustainable urban development.
