According to these studies, if flexible working hours with a two-hour start window are broadly adopted, along with allowing employees to work remotely for four to five days per month, the morning peak travel time could be significantly decreased by nearly 30% across Dubai.

This translates to a noticeable reduction in traffic on major roadways like Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road.

For instance, if 20% of Dubai’s workforce opts for remote work, traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road could reduce by 9.8%, while Al Khail Road would experience an 8.4% decrease in traffic.

  • 58% of private sector companies expressed readiness to adopt remote work practices.

  • Truck Movement Restrictions: The RTA is expanding restrictions on truck movements during peak hours, further easing congestion on main roads.
