RTA Launches Employee Bus Service. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently launched a new employee bus service aimed at improving the commuting experience for its staff. This innovative service is set to begin on June 8 and promises to offer a seamless and efficient transportation solution for RTA employees. Here’s a detailed look at this new initiative:
Bus Service
The RTA’s new bus service will cater to its employees by providing daily pick-up and drop-off options across various emirates. This initiative underscores the RTA’s commitment to enhancing employee convenience and comfort. According to Issa Al Dossari, CEO of the Public Transport Agency, the introduction of this service is part of the RTA’s broader strategy to improve employee transportation and productivity.
Features Of The Bus Service
- Modern and Comfortable Buses: The RTA has invested in 10 new, modern buses designed to offer maximum comfort and safety. These buses are spacious and equipped with the latest amenities to ensure a pleasant journey for employees.
- Wireless Internet and E-Attendance Systems: In a bid to enhance productivity, the buses will feature wireless internet access and e-attendance systems. Employees will be considered as “on duty” from the moment they board the bus, thanks to the electronic attendance system integrated into the vehicles.
- Vehicle Management System Integration: Within the next two months, the buses will be linked to the Vehicle Management System. This integration will allow the RTA to track the exact locations of the buses in real time, ensuring efficient management and coordination.
Phased Implementation
The bus service will be rolled out in three distinct phases:
- Phase I: This phase will serve employees based at the RTA’s main Head Office in Umm Rumool.
- Phase II: Employees working at the Public Transport Agency in Muhaisnah will benefit from this service in the second phase.
- Phase III: The final phase will extend the service to RTA employees working across various other offices and centers.
Sign-Up And Coverage
Khalid Mohammed Hashem, Director of Planning and Business Development Department at the Public Transport Agency, announced that 372 employees (excluding bus and taxi drivers) have already signed up for the service. The coverage of this service extends beyond Dubai, including staff members residing in Sharjah, Ajman, and other emirates.
Additional Amenities
The buses will also feature some seats equipped with laptops, allowing employees to start their work as soon as they board the bus. This feature is designed to make the most of the commuting time, ensuring that employees can be productive from the start of their journey.
Conclusion
The RTA’s new employee bus service marks a significant step towards improving employee transportation and enhancing overall work productivity. With modern amenities, phased implementation, and extensive coverage, this service is poised to set a new standard for employee commuting in the region. The initiative reflects the RTA’s dedication to fostering a supportive and efficient working environment for its staff.
